How Warzone Tournament Scoring Works: Placement, Kills and Kill Races
How Warzone Tournament Scoring Works
Scoring is the backbone of every competitive Warzone tournament. On DropZone, each match earns your team a score built from two ingredients: placement and kills. Your tournament total is the sum of those match scores across every game you play.
Placement points
Placement points reward survival. The higher you finish in the lobby, the more points you earn. A victory earns the most, with the scale tapering down through the top placements. The exact table is shown in every tournament lobby under the Scoring section, so you always know what a win or a top-10 is worth before you drop in.
Kill points
Kill points reward aggression. Every elimination your team secures adds a fixed amount to your match score, and kills stack fast — a high-kill game can outweigh a mediocre placement. Teams that can combine strong placement with consistent eliminations are the ones that climb the leaderboard.
Kill Race tournaments
Kill Race events flip the priority. In a Kill Race, only kills count — placement points are ignored entirely. Strategy shifts toward high-traffic drops and sustained gunfights, because surviving to the end no longer helps you. If you thrive in chaotic, fight-heavy lobbies, Kill Race tournaments are the format built for you.

Most tournaments play up to three matches inside a 1.5-hour window. The team with the highest cumulative score across those matches wins. Check the Scoring card in any tournament lobby to see the exact placement table, kill value, and whether placement counts for that event.
